Eimear Cregan scored Ireland's only goal in the three-match series

Spain edged out Ireland 2-1 in Valencia on Sunday to secure a 3-0 series victory over the weekend. The hosts won both opening two games 4-0 but Ireland left their best performance to the final match. Montse Cruz put Spain ahead but Eimear Cregan equalised on 44 minutes before Cruz netted again three minutes later. Meanwhile, the Irish men's team lost 4-2 to Belgium in Waterloo on Sunday with Eugene Magee and Stephen Butler on target for the visitors. Magee, Mitch Darling and David Hobbs scored in a 5-3 defeat by Belgium on Saturday.
