James Tindall scored twice as England came from a goal down to beat world champions Germany 3-2 in Hamburg.
Niklas Meinert gave the home side a 17th-minute lead before Beeston's Ali Wilson equalised on the half-hour mark.
Tindall put England ahead with a close-range tap-in only for Germany to level through Oscar Deecke.
But Tindall marked his 50th cap with the winner on 59 minutes when he flicked the ball into the roof of the net from a penalty corner.
Reading defender Richard Springham made his senior international debut in the match, which also saw Cannock forward Martin Jones make his 100th combined Great Britain and England appearance.
England manager Pete Nicholson said: "It was a pretty even match and I'm pleased with they way we performed in front of a vociferous crowd."
