Tweddle won two gold medals at the European Championships in April
Beth Tweddle will lead Britain's 10-strong team in next month's World Artistic Gymnastic Championships at the 02 Arena in London.
She is one of the biggest names in British gymnastics, becoming asymmetric bars world champion in 2006 and finishing fourth at the 2008 Olympics.
Tweddle, 24, will be joined by 17-year-old Becky Downie, who was 12th in the all-around event in the Beijing Games.
Olympic pommel horse bronze medallist Louis Smith leads the men's team.
Daniel Keatings, who won all-around silver at the European Championships earlier this year, is also part of the team.
"We are pleased to have such a strong group of gymnasts available to represent Great Britain at these World Championships," said British Gymnastics Olympic performance director Tim Jones.
"This is a great time to be competing on home soil in the run-up to London 2012 and we will be encouraging our performers to learn from the experience.
"We will all be working as hard as possible to ensure that we maximise this opportunity."
The championships, the first to be held in London, take place from 13-18 October.
