Zara Phillips hopes to claim the Barbury Castle title

Star names such as Zara Phillips, William Fox-Pitt and Pippa Funnell head the entry list at the Barbury Castle Horse Trials.

All of Team GB's Olympic riders from Beijing are lined up to compete at the event, which starts on Friday, 10 July.

"We are absolutely delighted with the huge numbers and quality of horses entered," said Barbury director David Green ahead of the three-day event.

Lucinda Fredericks took first prize in last year's event.

Green added: "We welcome back last year's winner Lucinda Fredericks and riders from ten nations making it a truly international event.

"Riders want to compete at Barbury because of the wonderful conditions and the great atmosphere.

"More people are staying at home in Britain this year, so we are expecting a large crowd."
