The aiming high project has already attracted 50 disabled youngsters and their families to one of the city's local parks.

Organiser Simon Berry told BBC Look North: "The opportunity to experience cycling is seven days a week."

The facility is set to expand to provide proper changing facilities.

Berry added: "A lot of young people aged up to 19 had never been on a cycle before."

Adapted cycle
Each cycle costs 3,000 to build

Each of the specially adapted bikes from Germany cost around £3,000 to buy and more are expected to be purchased as the project expands.
