Sophie Christiansen was born two months prematurely with cerebral palsy and many other health problems.
She recovered and started riding aged six as a form of physiotherapy and has gone on to become a top horsewoman.
As the youngest GB member in Athens she won bronze in the individual grade 1 test. She won three golds in the 2005 European Championships and gold in the grade 1a individual freestyle at the 2007 World Championships.
The 20-year-old, who lives in Berkshire, is studying maths at the Royal Holloway, University of London and says she would most like to meet the band Razorlight.
Her horse Lambrusco, who Sophie describes as "kind, gentle and giving", will also be at his second Paralympics after he was ridden by Anne Dunham in Athens in 2004 when she won team gold.
