Bushell celebrates triple record

Bushell has high expectations for 2012

Telford's teenage wheelchair athlete Mickey Bushell has clocked up two more GB sprint records.

He is now the fastest Brit over 100m and 400m after times of 15.54 seconds and 53.73 in Switzerland, beating the previous bests by 0.26 and 1.37.

These are in addition to Bushell's new 200m record set at Stoke Mandeville.

"I'm thrilled to bits," said 17-year-old Bushell. "I never expected to be setting records at such a young age. It feels great."

Telford-based Bushell is still setting his sights on making a big impact at the 2012 Paralympics in London.

"Only last week, I was asked if I would rather have a million pounds or a British record," he added. "I said 'a record' and now I have three!"
