David Heaton has been chosen as Great Britain's sole representative in the wheelchair fencing competition at this summer's Paralympic Games.
The 31-year-old, who is ranked fourth in the world in the category B sabre, is confident he can grab his first individual medal in Athens.
"This is my best chance yet," said Heaton. "I know the three people who are ahead of me and I'm not that far away from them.
"I'm just really pleased to be going."
Heaton is taking part in his fourth Paralympics where he aims to add to his 1992 bronze medal in the team event.
Great Britain did not qualify for the team event in Athens.
Heaton will tune up for the Games by heading to Poland next month to compete in a World Cup event.
"Everyone will be there, so it's going to be a really good test," said the Blackpool athlete.
