Adrian Lewis has never passed the semi-final stage of the Premier League
|
World champion Adrian Lewis has qualified for the semi-finals of the Premier League, where he will face defending champion Phil Taylor. Lewis needed a draw from his final match against Gary Anderson in Newcastle on Thursday to secure a spot in the play-offs at Wembley on 19 May. And the Stoke-on-Trent player came from 7-5 behind to pick up the point he needed to finish fourth in the table. Anderson will take on Raymond van Barneveld in the other semi-final. Taylor, who lost to Lewis in the first week of the competition, won his 13 subsequent group matches, ending with an 8-3 victory over Simon Whitlock. James Wade defeated Terry Jenkins 8-4 and van Barneveld was an 8-4 winner over Mark Webster in the night's other fixtures.
