Phil Taylor forces draw to reach Premier League semis

Phil Taylor put in an incredible performance at the Premier League of Darts in Sheffield on Thursday to guarantee a top-four finish.

Taylor threw some of the best darts of his career to draw 7-7 with defending champion James Wade.

The Stoke thrower took the match to a 14th leg after he coming back from 6-3 down. In the final leg, he shot 171 helping him clinch a draw.

Taylor said:"That 171 was probably the best shot of my career."

The 15 times world champion remains unbeaten in the Premier League and is seven points clear at the top of the table.

Fellow Potteries thrower Adrian Lewis had his hopes of a top-four finish dented when he lost to Terry Jenkins 8-5.

Dutchman Raymond Van Barneveld is bottom of the table having lost to Simon Whitlock 8-6, while Mervyn King and Ronnie Baxter drew 7-7 and are second and third respectively.
