Phil Taylor drew 7-7 with 2009 runner-up Mervyn King on night five of the Premier League in Manchester.

It is the first point that Taylor, the world champion on 15 occasions, has dropped in this year's competition.

The 49-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent, needed a 13-dart finish in the deciding leg to maintain his unbeaten record.

Adrian Lewis lost for the third time in five matches, going down 8-4 to Simon Whitlock, while reigning champion James Wade drew 7-7 with Ronnie Baxter.

Wade, who beat King in the 2009 final, is yet to win a match in this year's tournament.

In the night's other match, Raymond van Barneveld defeated Terry Jenkins 8-4 with an average of 106.92, the highest of the competition so far.
