World champion Trina Gulliver believes the ladies' Lakeside competition should be upgraded in status.
Gulliver's average is as good as many male professionals
The 'Golden Girl' won her sixth world title, beating Francis Hoenselaar 2-0, but received a £6,000 prize compared to £60,000 for the men's winner.
"We want more players involved, more money, everything really," said the 36-year-old, whose three-dart average in the semi-finals was almost 96.
"We would definitely like to play more sets," added the Warwickshire star.
The women's final is shorter in format than the first-round matches of the men's event.
