The German outfit are still in their relative infancy and are already showing great promise.
Team boss: Hans-Michael Holczer
Team leader: Georg Totschnig
Best Tour: 2003 - Totschnig 12th
Their inexperience and the ardours of the Tour could prove too much for them to make a serious impact in 2004.
But team boss Hans-Michael Holczer believes in Georg Totschnig they have a rider capable of pushing for a top-10 finish and few would disagree.
He was 12th in last year's GC and is a mountain specialist, who also flourishes against the clock.
He should be ably assisted on the climbs by German rider Fabian Wegmann, who won the King of the Mountains jersey in this year's Giro d'Italia.
The star of the early season, however, has been Davide Rebellin, who relished in the Spring Classics.
He was second in the Paris-Nice before a breathtaking hat-trick of victories in the space of a week.
First he held off the threat of Michael Boogerd to win the Amstel Gold Cup, before triumphing in both the Fleche-Wallone and the Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
But sadly for his Gerolsteiner team-mates, he has decided to opt out of the race in order to focus on the remaining World Cup races and August's Olympic road race.
