The Domina Vacanze team have not taken world cycling by storm this season.
Along with Kelme, they have dropped down out of cycling's top division and struggled to pick up results.
But the colourful figure that is Mario Cipollini - the team leader - ensured their invitation to compete in this year's Tour de France.
A year ago it had been a completely different picture and the Italian team missed out on a wild-card invitation despite Cipollini's impressive record.
But this Tour will be Cipollini's last and, in a waft of nostalgia, the Tour organisers have backed down and allowed Domina Vacanze into their midst.
Whether Cipollini can actually do something of note remains to be seen, his ageing limbs likely to struggle against the younger and more competitive legs of Alessandro Petacchi, Baden Cooke and Robbie McEwen.
A stage win, however, is not beyond the realms.
