Coni won three stages at the Giro d'Italia earlier this year

Italian rider Emanuele Sella has received a one-year doping ban from the Italian Olympic Committee (Coni).
Sella, 27, tested positive for a blood-boosting EPO substance in an out-of-competition control before he confessed to doping in August.
A tribunal has agreed with Coni's recommendations that Sella's ban should be reduced to one year as the rider had collaborated with the authorities.
His backdated ban will now end on 18 August 2009.
Sella won three stages of the 2008 Giro d'Italia in May.
