Tour start venue moved for floods

Cycle Tour
The tour heads to Stoke from Worcester

Organisers of the Tour of Britain have confirmed that stage four of the event will still be held in flood-affected Worcester on Wednesday, 10 September.

The riders will now start from the Grandstand Road car park rather than the flooded Worcester Racecourse.

Worcestershire's cycling officer, Mark Leyland, told BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"Spectators will still be able to see some of the world's top professional cyclists, including members of the British Olympic squad."

"They can also enjoy the many cycling related activities talking place before and after the start at 1000 BST."

After local flooding part of the route has had to be changed, but they will head from Worcester to Kidderminster and the stage will end at Stoke On Trent.
