The annual Alex Forrest charity 2-up time trial will take place on Wednesday 3 September at 18.45 BST. The starting point will be the Jurby Hotel.

The charity time trial comes at the end of the Island's cycle season.

"The event is family-orientated and there are prizes for family combination," organiser Dot Tilbury told BBC Isle of Man.

In 2007, the Tuesday under-16s league boasted 550 members and is recognised as the largest youth club in Europe.

Mark Cavendish is a former member, and abilities range from children on bikes with stabilisers, right up to 16, after which members join one of the island's cycling clubs.
