Peter Kennaugh Junior has won his first senior cycling title.

The Manx rider, who is currently based in Italy with the British Olympic Development Programme, was victorious in the Trofeo Bastianelli on Tuesday.

The British Under-23 Road Race champion made his crucial attack during the final stages of the 148km race.

He crossed the line 15 seconds ahead of second-placed rider Mathieu Delaroziere of France in a time of three hours and 36 minutes.

Meanwhile Kennaugh's younger brother Tim finished fourth in the British National Junior Road Race Championship in Buckinghamshire.
