Fans await the start of Friday's feature race at the World Championships in Fort William, the U23 Men's Cross Country
Three British riders are in the field of 81 with Ian Bibby, Ian Field and Ross Creber all looking to win a medal
Bibby avoids a crash at the start and is 10th after a solid opening lap - Swiss favourite Nino Schurter is leading the way
Schurter pays for his fast start though and is passed on the final lap by Denmark's Jakob Fuglsang who takes gold
Bibby runs out of steam and finishes 23rd, seven minutes behind Schurter in second while Jaroslav Kulhavy takes third
Creber is caught in the early pile-up though and his injuries force GB coach Phil Dixon to pull him from the race
Field meanwhile battles his way through numerous crashes from a starting position of 81 to finish a creditable 30th
Lois Morgan, 18, comes sixth in the Women's Trials final Swiss favourite Karin Moor takes the title
