Lance Armstrong's team-mate Yaroslav Popovych picked up the white jersey for the leading rider under the age of 26 in the Tour de France.
The Ukrainian rider, who Armstrong has tipped as a future Tour winner, finished a little over nine minutes ahead of Andrey Kaschechkin.
Third place went to Alberto Contador, who has also been tipped by Armstrong as a potential Tour champion.
Vladimir Karpets, who had been expected to feature highly, only managed sixth.
