Armstrong (right) chats to Robbie Hunter, the winner of the first stage

Defending champion Lance Armstrong put himself in a strong position at the Tour de Georgia after finishing in third place in the second stage.
Armstrong finished behind Austria's Peter Wrolich - who also claimed the overall lead in the six-stage event - and Italy's Manuel Quinziato.
"I tried my luck. It's not as if I'm disappointed with third. That's a tough circuit out there," said Armstrong.
Ivan Fanelli of Italy and American Bobby Julich finished fourth and fifth.
There was some confusion with the results at first as Rene Haselbacher was initially announced as the winner and soon after Michael Rich was declared the stage victor.
Replays of the race finally sorted out the confusion, declaring the German-based Gerolsteiner team rider Wrolich as the first man to cross the line.
Armstrong is competing in the event just two days after announcing he would retire from competitive cycling following this year's Tour De France.
