Double gold for England in Commonwealth bowls test

Bantock and Co put down a marker with an impressive win

England collected two golds at the Commonwealth Games test event in Delhi.

Mark Bantock, Graham Shadwell and Robert Newman beat New Zealand 7-5 9-2 to win the men's triples, with pairs bronze to Mervyn King and Sam Tolchard.

Jamie-Lea Winch, Sandy Hazell and Sian Gordon were victorious in the women's triples thanks to a 4-3 win in the tie-break against Australia.

The 2010 edition of the Commonwealth Games will take place in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October.
