Chisholm causes Welsh Open shock

English qualifier Robert Chisholm beat seventh seed Simon Skelton to win the Welsh International Open in Swansea.

The County Durham bowler, ranked 118th in the world, beat Nottingham's Skelton in straight sets to claim the title.

Skelton was the conqueror of number one seed Mark Royal in the quarter-final but was no match for Chisholm.

"I'm lost for words," said the 23-year-old after his 1½ to ½ victory. "I can't explain how much this means to me, it is unbelievable."
