Cambridge won the 150th race in 2004
The 2005 Boat Race will take place on Sunday 27 March, Oxford and Cambridge Universities have announced.

Both sides will be hoping next year's event passes off more smoothly than the 2004 race, when Cambridge won in controversial circumstances.

Oxford lost a length after both boats clashed on the Fulham bend and failed to regain their early lead.

The result brought an end to two years of Oxford dominance and their post-race appeal was turned down.
