Shingles (r) turned down an offer to stay in Germany to join the Heat
Guildford Heat have signed American point guard Brandon Shingles for the new British Basketball League season.
The 24-year-old, who captained Morehead State University, played in Germany for Aschersleben Tigers last year.
He said: "I am dedicated to achieving success and will commit my skills, hard work and passion to the team.
"I look forward to creating bonds with my teammates, coaches, the management and fans, and hope to create a positive foundation this season."
Heat coach Creon Raftopoulos added: "He is a player with strong European experience and I am sure he will be an asset to the team."
The Heat begin the season with the BBL Trophy match away to Worcester Wolves on Saturday, 1 October.
