Love looking forward to Raiders 'challenge'
Plymouth Raiders have appointed Gavin Love as their new head coach following the departure of Gary Stronach.
Love, 32, ended his playing career in February 2009 after spending 13 years with the Raiders.
He won seven trophies at the Raiders, and captained the side in the 2007 BBL Trophy final win over Newcastle.
Love told BBC Spotlight: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge. We've got a couple of months to prepare our team and it's going well so far."
Stronach's departure from the Raiders at the end of last season ended his 24-year association with the Devon side.
And Love is keen to follow in the footsteps of the man who is still held close to the hearts of many Raiders fans.
"I've always thought about going into coaching at a high level," added Love. "I've got an opportunity a little earlier than I expected so it's been fantastic for me.
"I'm just looking to turn this team into the best club possible and we're looking for a good season, a solid season.
"We're looking at a top-four finish. I'm sure other teams are looking at that also but that's my personal goal."
