Flato joined the Raiders in the summer.
Plymouth Raiders point guard Eric Flato has left the club after suffering a serious injury.
Flato developed a hematoma after picking up a dead leg in training on 10 November and has not fully recovered.
The 23-year-old, who signed from Yale University in July, will have a third operation on the injury in December.
Flato said: "I've really enjoyed my time in Plymouth and am sad to leave, but I'm optimistic about returning to peak fitness after rehab."
During his brief spell with the Raiders, Flato scored 62 points, at an average of 10.3 per game.
Head coach Gary Stronach said: "Both of us are very disappointed that Eric won't be able to finish the season, but for his own health and the longevity of his career, it's the only way forward."
