James (left) and O'Neal have played on the same All-Star team

Shaquille O'Neal has joined Cleveland in a deal which teams him up with fellow NBA superstar LeBron James. The 7ft 1in centre arrives at the Cavaliers from Phoenix in exchange for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. In exchange for the four-time NBA champion, the Suns will also receive a second round draft pick in 2010 and cash considerations. O'Neal, 37, won three titles with the LA Lakers alongside Kobe Bryant, and another in 2006 with the Miami Heat. The deal pairs him with the NBA's current Most Valuable Player James, the dynamic forward who averaged 28.4 points per game this season.

606: DEBATE
|
Cleveland had the league's best record at 66-16 but lacked a dominating inside presence and lost to Orlando in the Eastern Conference finals in six games. The Suns acquired O'Neal from the Heat last year but lost in the first round of the play-offs last season and stumbled to a 46-36 record in 2008-09. O'Neal, the NBA's fifth all-time scorer with 27,619 points in a 17-year career, averaged 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.38 blocks during his time in Phoenix.
