The Los Angeles Clippers have signed point guard Baron Davis on a five-year contract worth a reported $65m.
The two-time All-Star opted out of the final year of his deal with Oakland's Golden State Warriors to return to his native southern California.
Last season, he joined Allen Iverson, LeBron James and Chris Paul as the only players in the NBA to average more than 20 points and seven assists per game.
Davis, 29, contributed 21.8 points and 7.6 assists for the Warriors.
Entering his 10th season, the former UCLA college star has career averages of 17.1 points, 7.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds per contest.
He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1999 and stayed with the franchise when it moved to New Orleans until joining the Warriors in 2005.
Davis should strengthen the backcourt for the Clippers, who are coming off a dismal 23-59 campaign when once again they were overshadowed by the LA Lakers.
Golden State moved quickly to cover the loss of Davis by signing guard/forward Corey Magette on a five-year deal reported to be worth $50m.
