The 2007-08 BBL Championship season tipped off on Friday with wins for Guildford, Plymouth and Sheffield.
Reigning league champions Guildford Heat opened their account with an 90-83 win on the road at Newcastle.
The Plymouth Raiders, led by 36 points from Drew Lasker, downed the Cheshire Jets 89-74 at the Plymouth Pavilions.
Sheffield Sharks had big performances from three of their new stars as they beat the Scottish Rocks 85-82 at the English Institute of Sport.
Justice Graham led the scoring with 21 points, Shelby Chaney added 20, and new point guard Alto Virgil made 16.
