Birmingham Bullets have pulled out of the forthcoming BBL season because they cannot find a suitable home venue.
The Bullets intend to return to the BBL for the 2007/08 season and will play friendlies this year.
"Whilst we are disappointed we fully understand the reasons why they have made this decision," said BBL chairman Paul Blake.
"We are committed to working with the organisation to ensure a successful return to BBL competition in 2007/08".
The Bullets' management spent the close season in negotiations over a venue to play in but were not able to complete a deal in time to play in the new season.
"These things take time," said owner Craig Bown.
"Rather than rush to complete our negotiations we have decided to hold fire and rest out the 2006/2007 season to give the opportunity for longer-term agreements to be put in place."
