NBA champions San Antonio Spurs got their new season off to a winning start with a convincing 102-91 win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
Tony Parker scored 26 points, while new signing Michael Finley scored 16 points on his Spurs debut.
Denver's Carmelo Anthony notched 23 points and eight rebounds.
Elsewhere, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Philadelphia 76ers 117-108 in overtime and the New Orleans Hornets saw off the Sacramento Kings 93-67.
San Antonio used the occasion to celebrate last year's title. "I'd like to thank you for your continued support, year-in and year-out," said Tim Duncan.
"We've had some good times and we'd like to bring another championship back to San Antonio."
San Antonio trailed 48-46 at half-time, and it was not until the final quarter that the champions really showed their class.
Number one draft pick Andrew Bogut made a winning start with the Bucks and gave a solid performance.
