Tulowitzki revels in rare feat
MLB
Colorado's rookie shortstop Troy Tulowitzki had a rare unassisted triple play as the Rockies beat Atlanta 11-7.

The unusual feat occurs when a player gets three of the batting side out on his own - there have only been 13 in the history of the major leagues.

Tulowitzki caught a line drive by Chipper Jones, stepped onto second base to nail Kelly Johnson and tagged Edgar Renteria between first and second.

"It just kind of fell into my lap, but I'll take it," said Tulowitzki.

It was the first unassisted triple play since Atlanta's Rafael Furcal made one against St Louis on 10 August 2003.

There was a 41-year gap between MLB's seventh unassisted triple play in May 1927 and the eighth in July 1968.
