Major League Baseball players have
agreed a new five-year labour deal with club owners.
It will ensure the longest stretch without a work stoppage since players formed a union. There were been eight strikes between 1972 and 1985.
The longest labour contract in major league history history will not expire until December 11, 2011.
By then, if the deal holds, there will have been labour peace within the sport for a record 16 years.
