Clemens finished third in the NL Cy Young Award this year

Houston Astros' all-star pitcher Roger Clemens will delay until next year a decision on whether to play a 23rd major league season.
The 43-year-old had back and hamstring problems last season and went off after two innings in game two of the World Series against the Chicago White Sox.
"Today, he would retire if he had to make the decision," said Clemens' agent, Randy Hendricks.
Clemens still plans to play for the USA in next March's World Baseball Classic.
The Astros have until Wednesday night to sign Clemens or offer him salary arbitration. Otherwise, he would not be able to re-sign with them before 1 May.
