Hosts Scotland finished on a high note at the Sudirman Cup when they beat the United States 3-0 in their Division Three play-off match.
It means the Scots, 21st in Beijing two years ago, move up two places among the 48 nations competing this week at the 10th world mixed team championships.
Watson Briggs and Imogen Bankier beat Khan Bob Malaythong and Mesinee Mangkalakiri in the mixed doubles.
Craig Goddard won in the men's singles, while Susan Hughes won her tie.

"And in a couple of years' time we will be pushing for promotion.
"Our mixed doubles had everything - excitement, emotion and lots of support from the crowd.
"It was a pleasure to be associated with it all."
Ireland defeated Lithuania 3-1 in their first play-off after finishing top of their Division 5 group.
Wales had finished third in their Division 4 group.
