Redditch Arrows put themselves right back into play-off contention with a 26-14 victory at Dundee Hurricanes.

Arrows head coach Ian Hill told BBC Hereford and Worcester this had been an exceptional team effort.

"We knew that we would have to be at our best and everyone involved today gave everything they had.

"If we can continue this through the rest of the season then we have a very good opportunity of taking a national title," added Hill.

This was the Hurricanes' first defeat of the season, while it also propelled the Arrows right back into the play-off picture.

The Arrows set the tone in their very first offensive play when running back Mike Sinyangwe went in from 43 yards on a jinking run through the Dundee defence for a 6-0 lead.

The home side then hit back to lead 7-6 before Sinyangwe went in again on a 37-yard run for his second touchdown of the day.

Dundee hit back again to lead 14-12 at half-time, but they were made to pay for errors in the second half when the Arrows' defensive end Ian Loombs twice forced recovered fumbles to help set up the dramatic win.

Further touchdowns from Dave Mills and Kieron McLeod wrapped up the victory for the Arrows, who will now face another crucial match when they will host Yorkshire Rams on 27 July.

Arrows chairman Chris Halford said this result could be a defining moment in the club's season.

"To come to Dundee and not just win but to dictate the game as we did speaks volumes about this team's character," he said. "Confidence in the club is sky high. We are looking forward to our next game with lot of optimism."
