Miami give thanks to Harrington
Joey Harrington
Harrington's display soured the holiday spirit in Detroit
Joey Harrington made his old team pay on Thanksgiving Day as Miami inflicted a 27-10 home defeat on Detroit.

The former Lions quarterback passed for three touchdowns as the Dolphins (5-6) rallied from a 10-point deficit.

Harrington entered the game with a 1-3 record and no TDs, but returning to Ford Field brought the best out of him.

Tony Romo tied a club record with five touchdown passes as Dallas eased to a 38-10 victory over Tampa Bay while Kansas City edged past Denver 19-10.

Harrington completed 19 of his 29 passes for 213 yards and was intercepted once as Miami sealed a fourth straight win after a mixed start to the season.

Detroit's fans were in holiday mood as their team went 10-0 up on their first two drives.

But the Dolphins fought back with two first-half touchdowns, with Harrington's third making in 24-10 late in the third quarter.

Lions quarterback Jon Kitna beat Harrington in yardage with 252 but only managed one touchdown pass against some smothering Dolphins defence.

Dallas' victory moved them into sole posession of first place in the NFC East.

Romo matched the club record of five touchdown passes last set by Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl winner Troy Aikman.

He completed 22-of-29 passes for 306 yards with zero turnovers and spread the ball around among his wide receivers Terry Glenn, Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton and also threw a pair of short touchdowns to running back Marion Barber.

In Kansas City, Larry Johnson rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown and Lawrence Tynes kicked four field goals.
