Quarterback Steve McNair has vowed to take Baltimore to the Super Bowl after joining the Ravens from Tennessee.
"I'm here at a place where I feel like I'm very wanted, very welcomed," said the 33-year-old.
"My role for is to do whatever I can to get this team over the hump and get back into the Super Bowl."
McNair spent 11 seasons at Tennessee, compiling a 81-59 record and leading the Titans to the 2000 Super Bowl which they lost 23-16 to St Louis.
In 14 games last season, McNair threw for 3,161 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
During the 2004 season he played in just eight games after injuring his sternum.
McNair's relationship with the Titans became strained last season as the team attempted to renegotiate his salary.
Tennessee eventually banned McNair from their practice facility in April and gave permission to the quarterback to find another team.
It became clear that McNair did not figure in the team's long term plans when they used the third overall pick in this year's NFL draft to select highly-rated Texas quarterback Vince Young.
McNair was instantly installed as the Ravens starting quarterback ahead of Kyle Boller.
"He (McNair) is one of the elite quarterbacks in this game," said Ravens coach Brian Billick. "His record speaks for itself."
