Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre has passed John Elway and moved into second place in NFL career passes and yards.
Favre surpassed Elway's marks early in the fourth quarter of Green Bay's 21-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
He was 26-of-39 overall for 279 yards, throwing five interceptions for the first time in the regular season.
He moved ahead of Elway with 51,595 yards and 7,264 attempts. Miami great Dan Marino holds the league records with 61,361 yards and 8,358 passes.
Favre made his 212th consecutive start Sunday, adding to his NFL record for a quarterback.
The five interceptions were one shy of his personal high, set in a play-off loss to St Louis during the 2001 season.
A fan was arrested after running on to the field and grabbing the ball off Favre seconds before the end of the game in Cincinnati.
Security officials tackled the man who was later charged with criminal trespass while intoxicated. The ball was not in play at the time.
Favre said: "I turned around to look and he took the ball out of my hand. I wasn't scared of him, believe me."
