Vinatieri seals late Patriots win

A 29-yard goal from Adam Vinatieri with just 17 seconds remaining gave injury hit New England Patriots a 31-28 success against the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta recovered from a 28-13 deficit with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

But Vinatieri's 19th game-winning kick gave the Patriots, who have won three of the last four Super Bowls, a record of 3-2 for the season.

In Green Bay, the Packers won their first game of the season by crushing the New Orleans Saints 52-3.

Green Bay ended a four-game losing streak at Lambeau Field to improve to 1-4 this season.

In New York, Curtis Martin rushed for two touchdowns as the Jets handed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers their first loss of the season, 14-12.

Drew Bledsoe threw three touchdown passes in Irving as the Dallas Cowboys upset the Philadelphia Eagles 33-10.

And Trent Dilfer passed to Antonio Bryant for two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter as the Cleveland Browns overcame the Chicago Bears 20-10.
