Nelson: rivals are scared of me
Johnny Nelson
Nelson wants to unify the cruiserweight division
Johnny Nelson has hit out at his fellow world cruiserweight champions, claiming they are too scared to fight him.

Nelson craves a chance to cement his place amongst British boxing greats by becoming the division's undisputed king.

The 33-year-old from Sheffield defends his WBO title for the sixth time against Australia's Commonwealth champion Adam Watt at Doncaster Dome on Saturday,

But Nelson insists his fellow champions, including Fabrice Tiozzo and Juan Carlos Gomez, are dodging him.

Frustrating

"It's becoming quite frustrating, although I won't let it deflect from my goals," Nelson said.

"The other champions haven't even had the sense to say privately that they don't want to fight me. They've been recorded on television and radio saying they want to avoid me."

Carl Thompson
A Thompson re-match would be the biggest fight for Nelson

The biggest fight out there for Nelson is a possible re-match with Carl Thompson, whom he beat in five rounds to win the title in Derby in March.

Nelson added: "Many people believe that fight's ending was inconclusive so I'll fight him again.

"I'll psych him out like the first time and the fight won't last as long second time around."
