Fort William collected their fourth Camanachd Cup against Kyles
|
Fort William earned their third straight Camanachd Cup final triumph with a 4-3 win over Kyles Athletic. Victor Smith opened the scoring for Fort William in the 29th minute, then James Clark doubled the tally after the break from 15 yards out. Gary Innes' 69th-minute backhander made it three before Fraser McDonald blasted in a 76th minute strike for Kyles. Duncan Kerr's quick-fire double levelled the scores, but Clark fired in the winner three minutes from time.
Fort William manager Drew McNeil: "At 3-3, we weren't getting the ball forward, but I felt if we got the ball forward we would score.
"It's one thing saying you're comfortable, and I was worried, but I have faith in the guys. "They've been there before and they know how to do it.
"It's been a hard season, and the win seems a bit surreal - it doesn't feel like I'm celebrating, but I'll enjoy it tonight."
