Ipswich finally get off the mark

Hockey

Ipswich ladies drew 1-1 at Leicester on Saturday to secure their first point of the England Hockey League season.

Chloe Hunnable got the Suffolk side's equaliser after Hannah Smith had given the home team the lead.

Ipswich's men suffered their heaviest defeat of the National Conference East season on Sunday, when they lost 9-3 at home to Indian Gymkhana.

Geoff Reed, Mark Wrinch and Keir Dixon scored for Ipswich, who are still looking for a first win of the year.
