Student Bronwen Wotton won her first Cornwall Senior Closed badminton title last weekend, emulating her mother and former county number one Kath.

The 16-year-old beat Johanna Philp 22-20 in the final game to take her first senior county singles title.

St Austell Bay's James Whetter won a hat-trick of titles in the men's event.

He took his sixth singles title, as well as the men's doubles with Nick Phelps and the mixed doubles crown after teaming up with Philp.

And Philp got a second title of her own when she teamed up with Rachel Irish to win the women's doubles.
