Jersey celebrate final day haul

Jersey took their Jeux des Iles medal tally up to 23 on the final day in Guadeloupe, plus three from the demonstration sport of surfing.

Nathan Elms, the British and Jersey under-14 champion added a Jeux des Iles gold to his collection, with Matthew Chapman winning the bronze.

Dan Garten also picked up a bronze in the body-boarding section.

The island also earned two silvers and two bronze in swimming as well as four silvers in athletics.

Grace Le Couillard won a silver in the 100m backstroke while Charlotte Manning got her third silver of the games in the 200m breaststroke.

Katy Glendennning won a bronze in the 400m freestyle and the girls 4x100m medley relay team also picked up bronze.

In athletics Felicity Johnson-Deeley took silver in the 3000m to add to her silvers in the 800m and 1500m.

Meanwhile there was a silver in the girls 4x400m relay quartet.

There were also two more silvers in the field events - Steven de la Haye was second in the High Jump and Katherine Rothwell picked up silver in the shot put.
