Alex Marshall has won three world indoor titles
Alex Marshall has become world number one for the first time in his career.

He leapfrogs fellow Scotsman David Gourlay, who had been in the top spot for five seasons.

Marshall won his third world indoor bowls title this month when he defeated Australian Mark McMahon.

He then went on to win the mixed pairs title with England's Amy Monkhouse, having won gold for Scotland in the gents pairs with George Sneddon at the Commonwealth Games in 2002.
