Van Barneveld stopped by West
Raymond van Barneveld
Victory would have capped a stunning year for Van Barneveld
Tony West wrecked Raymond van Barneveld's hopes of completing the darts Grand Slam by clinching the Winmau World Masters.

Van Barneveld followed up his win at the Embassy World Championship by taking the International Darts League and World Trophy titles.

But the Dutchman found West too hot to handle on Sunday and the Essex thrower ran out a 7-6 winner.

The win made up for West's defeat to Mark Dudbridge in last year's final.

"I just kept believing I could do it and in the end I did," said a delighted West, who came from 4-3 down to sntach victory.

"The crowd were excellent, they kept me going throughout. I just kept digging in and it's unbelievable that I've won."
