Matulik issues Storm warning
Manchester Storm captain Ivan Matulik
Matulik broke the news to his players on Friday
Manchester Storm captain Ivan Matulik has warned his players they may have to look for another club should they fail to resolve their current financial crisis.

The Superleague outfit have already postponed their next two league matches.

Falling crowds have meant the Storm are unable to pay their rent to SMG - the owners of the Manchester Evening News Arena where the club play their home games.

And on Friday Matulik explained: "We've got our fingers crossed but, if things turn sour, there's no other choice but to look for another club."

I don't have a clue whether we will get paid or not
Manchester Storm coach Daryl Lipsey

Club officials are currently in talks to secure their future.

One possible link would be with former NHL star Wayne Gretzky.

Gretzky is now a managing partner of the Phoenix Coyotes, who are keen to get a foothold in Europe and have approached Storm owner Gary Cowan about a possible link.

Storm coach Daryl Lipsey revealed he was still in the dark over the current financial woes.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "I don't have a clue whether we will get paid or not. I have not been informed about anything and that's been really disappointing.

"The players keep asking me what's going on but I've nothing to tell them."
