Baxters the best of British
Alain Baxter is British slalom champion for the fourth time in a row
Alain Baxter claimed his fourth straight British title
The Baxter brothers dominated the final day of the British Land National Ski Championships in Saalbach-Austria.

Scottish World Cup star Alain won the British Slalom title for the fourth successive year, while his brother Noel finished runner-up.

Alain finished 0.44 of a second ahead of his brother, and was encouraged ahead of this weekend's World Cup meeting.

"I held back a bit on the steep on the first run, but really this is one of this day's when I've probably got more to lose than I have to gain," Alain Baxter said.

Emma Carrick-Anderson
Carrick-Anderson was a clear winner
"It's great to see Noel skiing so well and hopefully we can do the business at the World Cup this weekend in Kitzbuhel."

Gareth Trayner came in third after an improved second run that took him within 2.2 seconds of the winning time.

Emma Carrick-Anderson took the women's slalom title for the seventh time, although she could only manage seventh place in terms of the complete international field.

New Zealand's Claudia Riegler came in first, ahead of Austria's Sabine Egger.

The Overall men's Alpine Champion was Scotland's Finlay Mickel for the second time, while his British Land National Alpine Team counterpart Chemmy Alcott of England won the women's overall.

Alcott also won, for the second time in her career, the Victrix Ludorum Trophy for the biggest haul of championship points.
